V-Day Halifax: "The Vagina Monologues."

The Vagina Monologues

The award-winning play is based on V-Day Founder/playwright Eve Ensler's interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace, the piece celebrates women's sexuality and strength. Through this play and the liberation of this one word, countless women throughout the world have taken control of their bodies and their lives. For almost 20 years, The Vagina Monologues has given voice to experiences and feelings not previously exposed in public and brought a deeper consciousness to the conversation around ending violence against women and girls.

 We have three shows:

Friday, February 16 from 8pm-9:30pm,

Saturday February 17 from 3pm-4:30pm,

Saturday February 17 from 8pm-9:30pm

What is V-Day?

2018 marks the 20th Anniversary of The Vagina Monologues & V-Day.

Twenty years ago, women's reactions to The Vagina Monologues launched V-Day, a global activist movement to end violence against all women and girls (cisgender, transgender & gender non-conforming). Today, the movement - and the V-Day activists worldwide at its core - is more active than ever, producing art for social change, activating communities & colleges, raising crucial funds for rape crisis shelters, domestic violence shelters, local programs for transgender youth at risk of sexual violence, for immigrant women and girls, and so many more reflecting the needs of their communities.

V-Day activists stage benefit productions of The Vagina Monologues and A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant, and A Prayer, during the month of February, in their colleges and communities to raise funds and awareness for local anti-violence groups, including rape crisis center, domestic violence shelters, and more.
