Mining the MemoriesHalifax Boys’ Honour Choir with Special Guests Men of the DeepsMining the Memories is a concert celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the award-winning Halifax Boys Honour Choir with special guests, the Men of the Deeps, North America’s only coal miner’s choir. Come join us for a wonderful evening of music-making that will have your hands a-clapping and your toes a-tapping! Performing music from many different genres, both groups sing songs that appeal to all ages. Under the musical direction of Pamela Burton and accompanied by Faith Daley, the Halifax Boys Honour Choir is celebrating its commitment to choral excellence for the past 25 years. The Choir has toured all over Ontario and eastern Canada and has performed with the Rankin Sisters, David Foster and Nova Scotia’s Provincial Men’s Choir, Nova Voce. In 2010 it also performed for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in Halifax. Rich in history and tradition, for over forty years the Men of the Deeps have been touring North America, singing and sharing heart-warming stories of the work and lifestyle of the Cape Breton coal miner. Sure to leave you feeling delighted and inspired, Mining the Memories is a concert you won’t want to miss! |

Ensemble BelcantoAn Evening of Italian Operatic and Classical MusicAs part of the Italian Government’s celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Italy’s unification; and thanks to the combined efforts of the Italian Canadian Cultural Association (ICCA) of Nova Scotia and the Italian Consulates in Nova Scotia and Montreal, we present the renowned Italian group “Ensemble BelCanto”. This ensemble is currently travelling the world, for the promotion of Italian culture and music. To demonstrate the strong ties between Italy, Italian Canadians and Nova Scotia the Ensemble BelCanto has included Halifax as one of their Canadian locations on this tour. This exciting event will take you on a journey of famous opera arias and instrumental music composed by Italian composers such as: Rossini, Puccini, Donizetti, Bellini, Monti, Morricone and others. This once in a lifetime event is surely not an evening to be missed by music, opera and Italian culture lovers. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the IWK Health Centre. |
